War 2 vs Coolie Box Office Collection Day 7: Rajinikanth’s Film Crosses ₹222 Crore, Hrithik-Jr NTR Starrer Nears ₹200 Crore
Rajinikanth’s Coolie dominates week one at the box office with ₹222 crore, while Hrithik Roshan–Jr NTR’s War 2 ends just shy of the ₹200 crore mark. Check Day 7 collection updates.
Rajinikanth’s Coolie outpaces Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s War 2 at the box office in the opening week.

The much-hyped Independence Week box office clash between Rajinikanth’s Coolie and Hrithik Roshan–Jr NTR’s War 2 has completed its first week. While Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie has managed to stay ahead in the race despite sharp weekday drops, Ayan Mukerji’s War 2 has fallen just short of entering the ₹200 crore club in India.
War 2 Box Office Collection Day 7
Opening with a massive ₹52 crore, War 2 saw an 11.25% jump on Day 2 but could not maintain momentum beyond Saturday. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned ₹5.50 crore on Day 7, taking its first-week total to ₹199 crore.
On Wednesday, the film recorded an overall 10.21% Hindi occupancy—morning (7.11%), afternoon (10.18%), evening (10.81%), and night (12.73%).
Meanwhile, rumours about War 2’s Telugu distributor Naga Vamsi facing financial strain sparked social media chatter. However, he dismissed the speculation, clarifying on X (formerly Twitter) that he was “not quitting cinema” and promised to return with Sithara Entertainment’s next outing, Mass Jathara.
Coolie Box Office Collection Day 7
Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna’s Coolie opened stronger with ₹65 crore on Day 1 and comfortably crossed the ₹200 crore mark by Monday. Despite a dip in weekday earnings, the film collected ₹6.50 crore on Day 7, pushing its total to ₹222.5 crore in the opening week.
As per Sacnilk, the film clocked 20.97% Tamil occupancy on Wednesday, with Puducherry leading at 27.25%.
However, the blockbuster faces a fresh hurdle. Sun Pictures has challenged the ‘A’ certificate issued by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in the Madras High Court, arguing that Coolie was unfairly rated compared to similar action-heavy films like KGF and Beast, both of which received U/A certificates.
Final Verdict: Coolie Leads Week One
With ₹222.5 crore, Rajinikanth’s Coolie has outperformed Hrithik-Jr NTR’s War 2 at the end of the first week. However, the coming weekend will be crucial in determining whether War 2 can cross the ₹200 crore milestone and narrow the gap.
